Writing
Conflicted feelings about AI Agents
Reflection on building with AI Agents
Context
AI Agents has stamped itself in the industry and it’s here to stay. Developers always interact with those clankers(excuse my potty mouth) at least an hour or two, either vibe coding(letting agents do their work) or partnering(architect and get all the details before prompting agents to write the code) with it. I have done both but after each session I am left with the feelings of unfulfillment, disappointment and I have been trying to look deep within myself why that is.
Reflection
I spent a lot of my years taking pride in my craft, but, it has become increasingly hard to take pride in my work when I feel like an impostor. The questions “who really wrote this code?”, “AI made this, how can I say I made this thing?”. It’s really hard to ignore how good these agents have gotten. As I write these random thoughts, an AI Agent is redesigning my portfolio website. I don’t feel like much of an Engineer.
I try to keep fit by coding simple or little project by hand(no llm), just pure raw-dogging it.
Even at work, I cannot avoid AI, If you aren’t using it, you’re not being productive.
Conclusion
I honestly don’t know where everything goes from here. I just honestly go with the flow and see where it all ends up. I probably will keep learning as much as I can and not let my brain rot.
There’s no benefits from this writing, it’s just a bunch of rambling.
